Recovery, Rest and Relaxation

It is Wednesday and I am just feeling like myself again after an exhausting weekend. We spent Saturday and Sunday doing a ton of work at our house. {Work that we shouldn't be doing... but I wont even go in to that} I trimmed in all of the walls, painted the trim, repainted our columns in the kitchen and living room, painted a wall in Keating's room, mopped the floors and the list goes on.
It was a ton of work and I wasn't the only one that thought so. As I was painting Keating wanted a "nack." I gave him a little bag of cheese-its and he sat down in the corner to have a picnic. When I looked back at him, he was passed out. In case you are wondering, he does not always wear this outfit... they are his play clothes, it just seems that most photos are taken while he is wearing play clothes!
Monday morning I felt like I was hit by a bus. You know it is bad, when your coworkers tell you that you look rough as you walk in the office! I even thought about going somewhere to take a nap on my lunch break. Of course I didn't but I really contemplated for a while. So it is Wednesday and I am somewhat recovered.
This week is a short work week for me because our family, minus Brad {he has to work} is heading to the beach for an extended weekend. To say that I am looking forward to this trip would be an understatement. After lots of work, and stressing over our housing situation I am ready to unplug for a weekend. I am also secretly... or not so secretly hoping that I come home to a finished house.
I think Keating will really enjoy the beach this year. He is all about being outside and digging in the dirt... doing boy things. An atmosphere where he is encouraged to make a mess in the sand and be center of attention for the entire family will be pure heaven for him. Of course we will be cheering on the bulldogs Saturday and hoping for a winning season!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Labor Day weekend! Hallelujah Fall is coming!!!
